    Welcome! Forming Students who hear and do God's Word. (James 1:22) This is a place where students and leaders gather together to dive into God’s Word together on a weekly basis, as we strive to be more like Christ and point others to Him. It is our desire to help middle and high school students become well equipped in being able to live a life worthy of the calling God has given each one of us. Our desire is to raise up the next generation of leaders that will advance God’s kingdom, no matter their career choice or platform! We meet in the Basement (located under the main worship center) and would love for you to join us! Pizza & soda is available for $1 each. A graduate from Liberty University, Michael studied Church Ministry with a focus in Theology and Apologetics. Michael loves leading students in their walks with Christ, encouraging them to know why they believe what they believe. Katie Dunn Mail Katie has been on staff with Mars Hill Students since 2021. She loves encouraging students to read God's Word and study it for themselves. She has a passion for students to know their Savior on a deep and intimate level. Small Group Leaders Mail Our group of small group leaders serve weekly to encourage and lead their students. They serve with grace, diligence and fun. Our leaders follow their group from 6th - 12th grade ensuring they build deep and meaningful relationships with their students. All volunteers are 18+ and background checked to ensure a safe environment for our students.

These events are designed for fun and fellowship within our ministry.     "Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me...'" Matthew 19:14 Large Groups Mars Hill Kids has three large group environments; preschool, elementary (K-3) and Club 45 (4-5). Each week, large group leaders teach biblical truths through music, Bible teaching and creative media. We use a mix of live teaching and dynamic video elements to teach the Bible with age appropriate concepts that the children can apply. Small Groups Every Sunday, your child will attend the same small group classroom. This is a great way for the children to establish friendships and build relationships. Here, the topic for the week is introduced through age-appropriate activities. After the Large Group experience, they return to the classroom and are taught how to apply the weekly lesson to their lives. Curriculum Our mission is to partner with you as you bring up your children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians. 6:4). The Gospel Project consists of weekly lessons that help all ages dive deep into the big story of the Bible—God’s plan to rescue His people through His Son, Jesus Christ. Parent Resources Kathleen Pratt Preschool Director Mail Danielle Holbrook Elementary Director Mail FREESTYLE DAY CAMP MH Kids is joining Sanctuary and Vintage 242 to host Woodlands Freestyle Camp on July 7-11, 2025 It is our hope for your children to have many opportunities to form solid, godly friendships as they "grow in wisdom and knowledge of Jesus" (2 Peter 3:18), and this is just one way for them to have fun and form deeper connections with their friends at church. Woodlands Freestyle is a day camp program for elementary-age kids (5-12). Rising 6th graders are encouraged to attend! The cost is $235 per camper and camp is Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 11, 8:30 AM -4:00 PM.     Sermon Discussion Below you'll find the pastor's presentations associated with each sermon along with discussion questions for your Life Group to use in response to each week's sermon. 5/4/25 Colossians 3:22-4:1, Philemon "Colossians , pt. 21: Philemon" Pastor Tom Gray What stood out to you today? Where do we see the themes of slavery and freedom throughout scripture? Read Luke 4:16-22. How does Jesus factor into this topic of slavery and freedom? What does it mean to see slavery as primarily spiritual? How have we seen that circumnavigated in the world today (social justice for instance)? Paul calls Philemon to obedience through love for a brother. Remember the context of Colossians and dealing with disagreements among believers and Paul calling the believers to pursue unity and to “put on love above all.” Why does Paul highlight confrontation with a starting point of love? Paul was calling Philemon to mercy, self-sacrifice, generosity, and obedience. How does this apply to us in our work spaces? Our families? In other relationships? Tom walked through a few different issues: secular humanism, abortion, sexuality, population control, helping the needy. Where are you coming into contact with these issues in your life? How do we see each of these modeled in the life of Jesus? “Application is most relevant in the areas that are the most difficult” - Tom. What does this mean? How have you experienced this? How has the Lord forgiven us? What would it look like for us to forgive others around us? Is there anyone I need to reach out and extend forgiveness to? “The action of forgiveness is more important than if we deem the individual worthy of forgiveness.” - Tom. Why? What point was Tom making here? Presentation 2/23/25 Colossians 3:5-11 "Colossians, pt. 13: Kill It" Pastor Tom Gray What stood out to you today? The point this week was very clear and simple. We should continually be at work identifying and killing the old self as we are being renewed in Christ Jesus. What does this look like in your own life? Where have you seen the most impact or change in your own life because of Christ’s work of salvation? Tom spent most of the time focusing on a list of things to kill or “put off” as Paul says. What stood out to you about this list? Where do you see this list show up in your own life, family, work, etc? Tom’s practical steps at the end are super helpful. Attack the issue early and at the source. What happens when we don’t do this? Do you have an example of not attacking something early? What happened? Presentation 2/16/25 Colossians 3:1-4 "Colossians, pt. 12: Seek and Set" Pastor Tom Gray What stood out to you today? The focus this week was on valuing the eternal over the temporary. Where do you have the hardest time with this perspective in your life? What does it look like to seek the kingdom? What does it look like to seek a new identity? Tom said “if it is true of Jesus, I want it to be true of me.” Why is this such an important way to live, especially in light of seeking the eternal thing? C.S. Lewis once said “the ones who do the most for this world are the ones most focused on the next.” How does this apply to what we have been discussing about eternal vs temporary? Tom spent some time focusing on the idea of “setting” or “anchoring” to the right things. What are some of the other things that we are tempted to anchor to? How have you experienced meditation and memorization help you with the idea of replacing things below and helping to focus on things above? Presentation 2/9/25 Colossians 3:1-4 "Colossians, pt. 11: Living Prayactively" Pastor Tom Gray What stood out to you today? What does it mean that our “life is hidden in Christ”? (v. 3) This was the main question of the day that Tom focused on: How does my living and His living in me work? How do we answer this? See Colossians 1:27-29; Galatians 2:20, 5:25; Philippians 4:12-13 How do we balance our responsiblity to live and work with the fact that we are totally dependent on the Holy Spirit to live the way He’s called us to? Tom created a new word this week to describe how we approach this balance: Prayactively = praying (as abiding) then doing How does this fit into the balance we just talked about? When do you find it easiest to pray? When do you find it more difficult to pray? How do we know if we are living in or not living in a spirit or attitude of prayer? We are always working on our relationship with God. What has God been teaching you over the last month or so? Presentation 2/2/25 Philippians 4:14-23 "The Philippian Church: A Model for Missional Engagement " Pastor Matt Russell What stood out to you today? The Philippians church knew Paul well (see Acts 16). How does being relationally connected help us be missionally engaged? What global missionaries are you personally connected with? Giving generously is another key element of being missionally engaged. How has giving (either locally or globally) increased your trust in Christs provision? FCA DR has a team of 13 individuals currently working in 6 major areas of the DR—Higuey, La Romana, San Pedro de Macoris, Boca Chica, Santo Domingo, and Dajabon. FCA DR has a ministry strategy of “to and through the coach.” Many athletes come from broken homes and end up spending more time with their coaches than with parents, teachers, or other adults. We believe if we can reach and disciple the coaches and their families in the Gospel, they can in turn disciple their players and families, which in turn can change an entire community.
