FCA - Dominican Republic TO SEE THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC TRANSFORMED BY JESUS CHRIST THROUGH THE INFLUENCE OF COACHES AND ATHLETES FCA Dominican Republic exists to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the evangelism and discipleship of coaches and athletes. FCA DR has a team of 13 individuals currently working in 6 major areas of the DR—Higuey, La Romana, San Pedro de Macoris, Boca Chica, Santo Domingo, and Dajabon. FCA DR has a ministry strategy of “to and through the coach.” Many athletes come from broken homes and end up spending more time with their coaches than with parents, teachers, or other adults. We believe if we can reach and disciple the coaches and their families in the Gospel, they can in turn disciple their players and families, which in turn can change an entire community. - COLIN WELCH - PARIS | MHCC
Colin Welch - Paris, France In 1905 the French government passed a law called La Laïcité. This was the beginning of the official separation of church and state. Though it was first presented as a “neutral position” on religion, it has resulted in an anti-religious mindset, growing to the point that part of the French identity is to be non-religious. Currently, France is ranked the 7th most atheistic country in the world—only 1.2% claim to be Evangelical Christians. Colin is serving in Paris, France with EFCA ReachGlobal in arts ministry, focusing on using art as a bridge to share the Gospel through relationships with artists. His vision is to see the healing of the disconnect between Christ and culture through the lives and work of artists. Website Donate
- BAPTISM | MHCC
Baptism "We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life." Romans 6:4 Buried with Christ and Raised to Walk in Newness of Life Baptism is an outward expression of an inward change. It doesn’t change our eternal destiny or our standing with God. Rather, it is a public expression of what has already transpired in our lives. It is a declaration of our faith in Christ and our decision to become one of His followers. A good illustration of the significance of baptism is that of a wedding ring. The ring is a symbol of the love and promises shared by husband and wife. It is worn proudly as an expression of belonging to another and as an expression of love for another. Like the wedding ring, baptism is a symbol. And, like the ring, it is a significant one – for it is the one our Lord himself gives us. Common Baptism Questions I Want To Be Baptized
