2025 Gift Offering December 1, 2025 Dear Mars Hill Family: One of Mars Hill Community Church’s best traditions is to give/receive a special offering at Christmas. We call it the “Gift Offering.” In light of God’s gift to us in His Son, Jesus, we want to offer a special year end gift to His work on earth through our church. Every year we designate a specific use for the Gift Offering. Last year we designated it to help cover the full cost of the new Lodge. By God’s grace, we will be able to move into it very soon with it fully paid for. This year we want the Gift Offering to be used to cover any potential budget short-falls we may experience at year’s end and then begin to re-plenish our “designated fund” which can and will be available for anticipated land and facility expansion needs. Our hope and desire for this special year-end offering is that it will be a prayerful and worshipful experience for every individual and family. To that end, the procedures for the gift offering are simple: Each individual and/or family should treat this as a spiritual and personal exercise of worship—praying, thanking God for the greatest gift—Jesus—and asking God to use our financial gifts to bring many people to know Him. Ask God how much He wants you to give for this special gift to His work. When you’re ready, before or after any service (December 7th, 14th, 21st, or 24th) come in a spirit of prayer together to the manger set up on the stage and put your gift offering in. The Glavda people of Nigeria and Cameroon still don't have the entire Bible in their own language. Let's change that. View Progress Update Glavda: A Language, A People The Glavda people's longing for Scripture began whern they witnessed other people groups around them complete translations of Luke's Gospel and produce the "JESUS" film. They wanted God's Word too, so they joined with other area language groups to pursue the same thing! Extreme violence at the hands of radical insurgents caused delays to the project—forcing translators to flee for their lives—but team members remained committed to completing the work. They successfully developed a writing system and produced Luke's Gospel and the "JESUS" film in their language. Through the project's second phase and still today, the political climate has been no less challenging. From 2019 to 2023, the Glavda worked on translating Matthew, Mark, John, Acts, Romans, 1 and 2 Corinthians, and James. This project continues where they left off: working toward the completion of their full New Testament. The Glavda team's perseverance in Bible translation—despite insurgency and forced evacuation from their homes—is a powerful testimony to their hope in God's Word alone for lasting peace and strength. Believers still struggle with the influence of African Traditional Religion, but God is bolstering their faith. Church leaders fell confident that more Scripture in Glavda will deepen their understanding of Christ's rich love for them and His power over the darkness that surrounds them. BE A PART OF IT. COFFEE TEAM Prep and manage the coffee offerings for the worship services each week in 3 primary locations (Cafe, Children's Ministry Lobby and Basement). Bridge To Israel SERVING TO LINK THE KINGDOM OF GOD BETWEEN ISRAEL AND AMERICA Founded by Cam McAllister in 2018, Bridge to Israel works to better educate the American church on the Jewish roots of our faith and on the necessity of supporting Jewish believers in Israel. Bridge to Israel also hopes to permanently change the way Israel tours look by placing emphasis on the inclusion of meaningful connections with local ministries, by offering education and resources on Jewish culture and by spotlighting Messianic ministries in Israel and connecting them with American ministries. Learn More Grow Together 1 Bible Studies Bible Studies meet at various times throughout the week, vary in group size and are a great way to get to know other women in the church. While fellowship is a byproduct, studying God's Word is the focus of these groups. Bible studies are always open to new members. 2 D-Groups Discipleship Groups (D-Groups) are closed groups of approximately 3-5 men that run for 1-2 years. Through active study of God's word and authentic relationships marked by transparency, encouragement and accountability, the goal of D-Groups is to multiply into new groups upon completion. 3 Events Our Men's Mission Briefing meets once a month on Saturday mornings for coffee, fellowship and a short teaching. Our Men's Guild meets quarterly on Saturdays. We also have seasonal events such as Men's Breakfasts, Outdoor days, and Braves cookouts.
